125 Panther (cross125) gearbox shifter "indexing".

My right side over is off of my 125 Panther (125 Cross in Europe). I only have a owners manual and a parts book to go by, I've never found a shop manual.

Question: can someone explain the procedure in setting up the gearbox shifter "pins" and the shift ratchet mechanism?

Also: any tips for getting it all together correctly? manual pages???? youtube????

    any help appreciated!

    TIA

HI, you can get a download of the manual from the benellimotobiclubgb. You just have to join the club and you can download various manuals for classic Benelli's. I had a 125 Benelli that I replaced a gearbox bearing in, when I tried. It down the road it changed all the way up to 5th but would not change down. When you do reassemble it try it on the bench first before you fit it in the bike. Beware the Benelli manual for your bike covers 5 other models and assumes you have a certain amount of mechanical knowledge
    good luck fixing it up

    Thanks for the tip Richard.

As I search for the manual....

.....can you describe how you would move the "pins" on the shifter, before installing the pawl mechanism and sidecover? I want to try to start it tomorrow.

Another issue,...kicks start spring tab jumped the inside case boss. I was able to get it back over, but there is no spring preload, to the kicker return is very very weak. Good enough for now, but I guess I'll have to remove the engine and split the cases to fix it. Unless someone has a better easier way....I hope....
