    9 New Benelli Models

    Article on Benelli.com :-

“Benelli Keeway Motorcycles Sdn Bhd” (BKM), thanks to its trading partner Qianjiang Grou, has received the exclusive rights to manufacture, assemble and distribute the models of Benelli and Keeway motorcycles and scooters suitable for the Malaysian market and Asia.
“Benelli Keeway Motorcycles Sdn Bhd” covers an area of 110 thousand square meters and has its headquarters in Bukit Beruntung (Malaysia).

The opening ceremony was attended by many business, economic and political authorities, including the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Dato 'Sri Mustapa Mohamad and the Italian Ambassador to Malaysia, Folco de Luca Gabrielli.

During the ceremony the marketing strategies and models that Benelli and Keeway will introduce first in Malaysia were presented, such as the Benelli TNT 899 and TRE-K 1130 or the Keeway Dorado 250, and Keeway TX200G RKV200G.
All the BKM products will be available at the motorcycle dealers’ shops throughout Malaysia.

“Benelli Keeway Motorcycles Sdn Bhd” has many projects on the go, as stated by the Executive Officer, Mr. On Hai Swee: "This year we are planning to launch 9 models of motorcycles - he explained - and in September we should open our flagship concept store in Kuala Lumpur. This showroom will make our brand even stronger”.

If BMW had bought them it would have been slightly better.

I'm afraid that the Benelli sport bike with so much characture is no more. Get them new while stocks last, cos soon there due to be extinct.
Once gone there gone...fred, so buy a new one mate.

I would if I had the dosh again. Mind you my ol'girl was used and she's been more reliable than the new one I had.

    Benelli character

Most of my riding mates were aghast or bemused that I got an R160 here in Sydney, Oz. I understood their reasoning; the agent/importer is in Melbourne, 1000ks away, parts have to come from Italy (slash China), damned if I know what the resale value is, have only seen one other Nelli here & it was a Motobi Benelli 125, single cylinder, circa 1972!

Maybe it WILL lose character as the Chinese owners become more involved in design but maybe not! I seem to remember that the despised jappers (Honda & the TT) burst onto the scene and actually destroyed a lot of marques that couldn't keep up

Although I really think there is something about the Italian psyche & motor vehicles... Anyhow, I just can not regret buying her, I grin just writing about this bike so wadaya do? FX are really helpful even tho are in Melbourne, I've found a fantastic italian motorbike specialist mechanics biz in Sydney (DMoto.com.au) & don't intend to sell her anyway!!!

    in my opinion

the only chinese parts currently on the R160 is the stock 36 tooth rear sprocket. easier and cheaper for Benelli to source its parts out of the italian area or europe.

i dont think you will see any large capacity Benelli's made outside of italy in the near future. their 250cc motard probably is, and maybe the much delayed BX bikes may be built to compete with japanese pricing etc.
i would love a 570cc BX motard! Every year at EICMA show time i cross my fingers.

We should see a euro/North american/Australia etc 600cc bike and the Due 756 at eicma this year.

And they really really should just get Vyrus in to consult in order to revive the 600cc Tesi supersports bike which was mothballed one Marconi left to go to Gas Gas. I'd buy one asap.

I'm always amused by the complete b0ll0cks written in ebay adverts.

"in the original style livery of the race bike."

Was the race bike ever in that livery? I've not seen any pictures. I've only seen the carbon prototype and the Goddard "Indesit" colours.

Now a pretty girl came up to me and she began to chat,
She said she'd give me something nice if I'd go up to her flat,
I said I'd like a cup of tea, she seemed to think it odd
And when I said it's time to go she charged me thirty bob.

Whatever QJ do in the future, it shouldn't detract from the 900/1130 Tre as these were designed in the pre-Chinese Andrea Merloni era.

I remember that one of the main Chinese m/c companies (not QJ I think) used to race a GSXR Suzuki in World Endurance a few years ago, and presumably would have learnt a lot from that. You can see a time when they produce a copy of a Jap superbike or manufacture under licence. But I don't think they will ever have the Japanese engineering flair for copying and then remorselessly improving.

That company who raced the Gsxr variant were very enthusiastic and I remember a reporter who interviewed them said they're a force to be recko ed with in the future and that was in the 90's .

We've seen developments over decades and new manufacturing processes so why can't we embrace new ways and new manufacturers
