Hey Angus - where is the Benelli UK meet? If I'm away with work for our forum's Scottish Gathering I might make this one.

Update on numbers - thanks to my secretary (BobW) helping me out whilst in China a few weeks back 3 of my biking mates are booked in....
Carl - 1098S Ducati
Hilary (bloke not bird) - on my olds Ducati Multistrada
Dene - ZX12R Having spent around 100hrs so far building up the 1130 as a track bike as still some way off I'm not sure I can be arsed to convert it back to road legal for the Scotland trip - So it will be the 1961 350 Triffield if my back can take it and i can get enough miles on it to be certain of its relaibility and that it can sit at 80 on the way up and back.

Not sure yet but if not that particular one I'll find another. Common sense says a GS but since when had sense got anything to do with it!!
Love the idea of the new Multistrada but can't justify the expense. (£14k .. could have a Tornado, 900ss, a Monster, Exup, FZR, an RD, a Tenere, an airhead BMW, and still have some change for that!!
Mike .. getting old and mean in my old age ...

Mate, take the 'Nellie! A 350cc Triumph is likely to shake itself to bits at that sustained speed! They only had a top speed of 85; 90 at best for a good T90; and that is on the flat; on hills, it will run out of puff, and the vibes will give you white finger in no time! It is a great little bike for Sunday jaunts, but you will want to be out front, not wringing it's neck trying to keep up! A 650 Triumph would struggle in Benelli company.....
Can't you fit a couple of projector headlights to the race fairing? I have seen it done on an R6, fitted with full race bodywork, and the owner rode it down through Spain and back.
Cheers

That is a good idea .. when I first bought my TZ a few years ago it came with a mot, no lights what so ever and a number plate stuck on the back. Never tried it on the road myself but clearly it was legal as the previous owner had run around on it without any probs.

That is the other option, of course. Get it a daylight mot, and it will not need lights; just a rear reflector, and numberplate, I believe. Better check the regs to be sure, but I have run off-roaders with a daylight mot. In fact, as Nigel's is probably too 'young' for an mot, problem solved. Just no night riding; obviously!
Bring ya Nellie Nige! How cool would that look?

On the scrounge
Hi Guys,
Thanks to Chris (Owdigit) for sorting out the accommodation "cheers fella" I will now be attending the Scottish gathering.
I was just wondering If any of you guys from down south had any room in a van /trailer for me and my nelli to travel up to the meet, obviously the cost of the transport would be shared etc,I am able to travel up on Thursday if that helps.
I'm located in Port Talbot South Wales so I'm thinking maybe I could meet at the Severn Bridge or Hereford/Ross that sort of area but really open to suggestions
Kenny
