    TNT - Hot idle issues

    2007 TNT 1130

Bike when cold starts fine, idles at 1500-1700 or so and all is good. Issue seems to be after riding for a bit when the bike is fully warm. When you stop and then try and start it again a few minutes later, the idle drops to 1000 and stalls when you give it a bit of gas.

You have to keep the idle up and take off, then it idles fine after a bit. Only happens after re-starting the bike when hot.

Read some old threads here which pointed to possibly TPS which I can't fathom as it runs fine otherwise. Vacuum hoses are fine. Issue only when re-starting hot. I was thinking map could causing too much richness when starting hot? Any advice where to look appreciated.

Possibly the idle control valve stepper is getting stuck, this is not uncommon with the original plastic plunger design.

Try adding a little more tickover on the manual adjuster screw first .
Then check the other suspects .

I've tried that. Helped when starting hot but after riding a bit idle is too high.

New stepper motor, same issue. Stalls when the bike is started hot, normally after waiting 3-5 min or so. Idle is normally around 1700-1800ish. After driving away it idles fine after a minute or so. I can't think of anything other than fueling?

Mine was very similar until i removed the injectors and cleaned them , I also reground in valves and reset tappets but Im sure its the injectors.

I think that you can get ones with more holes in but getting the old injectors cleaned should sort out your problem.

I replaced the injectors to 12 pt as well. It does need a Z25 upgrade (previous owner added beefier battery cables which cured the hot start). But I'm wondering if the Z25 is causing the idle stumble when starting hot. Can't see TPS being the issue. Other thought was temp sensor.
