Today with a bit of luck I'll be able to get out and about around the Brecon Beacons breaking on my new tyres .
I managed to get 4,500 miles out of the Avon Storm 3D XM's before they died.
And at the bargain price of £140 a pair I've fitted another set .What have you done today?-img_20200110_144207_1578822621727.jpg

Was a bit perplexed there for a while, but then it came to me. It's raining!

We got 1.0 mm, then it stopped. Yes, it's so precious we measure down to 100 um.

Wow, how do you manage that , I'm lucky to get 2.5k out of my bridgestone bt016's , well the rear anyway but I replace as a pair regardless. That being said I have just fitted a pair to my gen 1 tuono this week and I think that might be even more tyre abusive. especially after a day at oulton park.....

    Sam,
    I've no idea Really .
It's got to be the tyres or maybe the good suspension set-up now , as I usually rinse the tyres in under 3k. 😁

I also change both at the same time on Nelli.

Nah, Its the way you ride it , I trashed a set of Bridgestones on the Blade, an old RRX, on the road , in 1500miles , front and back.
The back was bare and the front so scrubbed , the shoulders were gone , and it wondered all over the road..
A mate of mine had a ZX12 R, he trashed his , over a weekend 900 mile trash across country, up and round North Wales.
3 day trip , and a new set of tyres on Friday , buggered on Sunday night .
I have to say , I use 016 ,s on all my bikes. I like the tyre ,it is cheap to buy , and they do not last long. Very predictable ,soft and wear quickly, but is that not why you ride a Sports Bike.
If you want to crunch miles , buy an BMW or a Honda and get 6 -8 K a set .

An old mate once said to me, If I had to go to work on a bike, I would not go to work. I would be gone for the day, sod work .

    Eh?...
I've toasted a set of the all singing dancing Metzler m7rr's in under 1.5 on the trek .(great tyre but not worth the extra bucks in my considered opinion)
I'm failing to see your slating of my riding style when you don't know me 😂.
And as for shouldering a front tyre is that too much panic braking or too many pork pies making the bike plough into corners or is it just simply incorrectly adjusted suspension ..... We'll never know .
I'm sure some else may have a theory but will they add it .
I guess we all have a faults me included and mine is getting sucked in lol .

You misunderstand my comments, I was certainly not "slating " anyone,s riding , style or ability.
Sometimes, I go out for a general tour round on the bike and others have a good old thrash on a nice quiet section I know well,
The effect on the tyre is very different. You surely have put you hand on your back tyre after a spirited ride and got it nicely warmed.
Sometimes the roads are dry , sometimes they are wet, your point to point times are vastly different and so is the wear on the tyre.
Look what track days do to your tyres. What have you done today?-dscf1136.jpg

Had the opportunity to get out on the bike .... Again haha ..
Primarily to test the original map , and I'm more confused than ever about the button in or out debate . Lol .
    Both worked.
light off (in) was most deadly 🤘.
Tuther one needs a bit of a fuel low down to smooth it out .
Had a bit of a rear wheel spin to the side whilst overtaking a lorry , felt a bit like riding a speedway bike 😂👍
