Travelled from Tassie to see and hear the Guzzi V-8 being demonstrated on the track. Very disappointing that they couldn't get it to run properly and it never ventured out of the pits.
I have seen a Guzzi V-8 in bits, and had my hands on the engine internals. Everything in the engine is so small. Little tiny pistons, valves, etc. It was in a mechanic's shop in Mandello, stripped down because it had holed a piston. The Italian mechanic referred to the camshafts as 'alberini', which if you know any Italian, means little shafts. Camshafts are usually just called 'alberi' (or 'albero' if there's only one of them).
