    Its the Triple.

I'm loving my new Aprilia, its a brilliant bike. But after owning a Benelli for a while, I now know what it is that is so appealing about them. Its the motor for sure. Dont get me wrong, I love a Vtwin Brilliant. But If i had to think about what I missed the most, its the triple. It is a truly unique engine.

So when you wonder why you are so addicted to the brand, I reckon the triple plays a big part. Its quite easy to explain an in line four or a Vtwin. But its hard to put into words a discription about a Triple. The sound speaks for its self. I may be stating the obvious to most of you, but somtimes you dont know what ya got till its gone. Isnt that a song? Owning more than one bike is the only way.

There appear to be only 3 cylinders in my ST 1050. Coincidentally, it's for sale. See signature :-)

Well being new to the Benelli, I don't know how much credability I have but I think the bike is a unique experience.
I have had a speed triple, R1's, GSXR's, ZX's etc. In some ways they were better, ie how they function, but the Benelli is what do I say,

I love the fact it has glitches, I fix them i love it!
It needs attention, I love it!
It draws a crowd, I love it!
It ride's great, I love it!

Bikes and women, we chose the one we like to ride
I had jap bikes now for some euro trash

    Thumbs up Agreed...

The Benelli triple is a stonker...

I was out last weekend - headed to Bristol Friday pm, won enough cash at Poker to pay for my petrol and beer and had a great ride back through the Cotswolds / Wiltshire / Oxfordshire on Saturday.

The 900 triple just pulls so evenly throughout the range, with that edgy snarl from about 6,000 upwards which makes your hair stand on end (metaphorically speaking for us baldies ).

When you're in the mood you just can't help but cane it and listen to that glorious noise. But it also has plenty of torque low-down - when I got a little tired and was just bimbling about below 5,000 it was still so usable. I'd describe it as relaxing if it weren't for the absolutely barking MotoGP exhaust... (cheers Errol - genius! )

No wonder Richard's always banging on about the TreK - must be a great all-rounder?!

    cheers,
    Dom
