    motobi 250c

Hi, looking at a motobi 250c and wondering if anyone knows whether parts are as scarce as usual Benelli stuff and any quirks/ known problems with them. I know they are old and any old bike can be more problematic than new stuff. I have looked at the Motobi club site but it seems as if i need to join before i can get any real info and as yet i am not 100% on the bike so it would be unwise to join just yet. cheers, ron d

The only issue I am aware of Ron (informed of by a 250 2C racer) is the frame sometimes cracking near the bottom right engine mount but only heard of on race bikes. Apparently some race bikes have this area reinforced by welding some webbing.

Parts appear no less rare than current Benelli parts. German ebay usually has lots of parts available, as does www.benelliparts.de.

I have one sat in my garage which I hope to turn into a racer but that's on the back burner right now. So you never know; I might have some parts going spare myself.

Lovely little bikes though. Not overly powerful compared to other bikes of the era but they do have a reputation for handling well.

Don't forget that some parts will be interchangeable with the Benelli 250 2c and the Guzzi 250TS too.

Another potentially bad area is electrics.

Sound like an interesting wee project for you Ron.

How many miles has it done and what did you pay for it? PM me if you don't want to post the details on an open thread.

    Cheers
    Laurence

Congrats Ron. Was that the £400 quid one on ebay? A steal if you ask me.

btw.. lots of spares on ebay for the 250 right now, if you need any.

No, not the ebay one, it was a canny bit more ( a lot more) than that. Bought it from north leicester motorcycles, even got 3 months warranty.

Hi, could only make the TT for practice week so i am now back home, really enjoyed the pre TT classic racing especially the MV ( the sound was fantastic).
