    Tornado 650 clutch issue

I'm restoring a '73 Tornado 650 I just acquired in Tucson AZ a few weeks back.
The clutch was bad, so I found a clutch pack and have had it in 3 or 4 times
because it is grabbing in 1st gear. All bearings and gears look good. I've
consulted a few old Ducati/Guzzi mechanics and the current theory is that the
spacer next to the hub may have been replaced at some point to compensate for
worn discs. I'm also wondering if some miles might help. If anyone has had a
similar problem, or has the OEM spacer ( think it's part ES158) and could tell
    me the width in mm.

    Thanks,

    Lee

May I ask where you found a clutch? I'm needing one for my '72 650 Tornado.
    -Thanks!

I happened to find one stateside through my mechanic. He had a buddy in OH who had ordered one from benelliparts.de for another customer who didn't end up using it. The site above is the only source I know of. I'll be interested to hear how your clutch replacement goes.

Cool. Thanks for the tip, that appears to be the only place. Price seams reasonable given the rarity. I just got the title issue settled on my semi-basketcase. I'll start in on it in January.

Best of luck. I hope to have mine on the road by then. Getting parts (and the clutch) is the biggest issue for me. Feel free to contact me if you run into problems. I may have already been there done that.

Cool. I'll look forward to some pics. I saw an old guy on youtube unloading a red tornado in MO a while back. That yours?

No, mine was Blue, currently a 1980's brown. Im considering a clear powder coat over raw steel tank , no side covers (empty triangle space), clip-ons, short rear fender, etc.
