    Hi,

I probably can't give you the answer you are hoping for but my mates and I had eight Sanremo rims rechromed when we couldn't find replacements. One rim failed entirely (split around the flange at low speed) and another two pulled through the spoke holes. The chrome plater is experienced and has done a lot of work for us but trying to bring back the thin and badly rusted Sanremos proved problematic.

On my latest 2C I fitted flanged alloy rims from Central Wheel Components in the UK. The design is almost identical to the flanged steel Sanremo. Highly recommended.

    Cheers,

    Tony

cant reiterate the comments on Sanremo rims both my brand new Benellis had them . They started to rust straight away as they had tin foil chrome and you could see the join on the Rims. My 125 Turismo used to regularly snap spokes in the rear wheel as well. Early 2c had nice Borrani alloy rims much better than Value Sanremos.

A pair of early 2c borranis just went on ebay italy for a hundred quid. The chap refused to ship them over here else i'd have had them :-). Theres a chap called bbricambi sells good value alloy rims. Bought one and it's been great.
