Actually, they didn't call them "VIN's" back then, just serial numbers. I'm curious about my bike even though I owned it back in '72. I seem to remember it is a '66 250cc Sprite, or at least that was what the previous owner told me. I've opened up the motor and the bore measures as a 250cc, and I've read that Benelli bored the 200cc egg to 250 in '66.
But I'm curious to know if there's a way to tell the year and model by the serial number. Both motor and frame are stamped "100137". The frame is also stamped:
IGM OM
MOTOBI

above the serial number.

Anyone have a clue to what that might indicate?
