    2c sprocket set

    Hi
I am putting a 250 2C together for the Manx GP and wondered if anybody knows where I can get a sprocket set from, I will not be racing just posing so the standard tooth set up will do.

    Many thanks

    Russ

    Hi,
Yes, I can confirm the front sprocket is identical to DT175. Available at your Yamaha dealer (for a perfect fit) or aftermarket cheapy where you will probably need a file! I only made the latter mistake once.

I haven't been able to source rear sprockets and would REALLY like to find out where to get them but I'm told some other Italian bikes use the same.

    Cheers,

    Tony.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Ive looked in the Bickers book but do not really fancy buying a few options and then adapting them in my mill so I think for now I will just put the old one back on the wheel.

I believe the rear hub is a Grimeca hub the same as or very similar to the ones used on Ducati singles, the sprocket carriers are certainly the same. I also believe that the early cast wheels used on Laverda's etc have the same sprocket carrier. Of newer bike the Cagiva Aletta used the same sprocket carrier as well so they may all provide other options.
It may be worth trying Talon we have used them for our Ducati race bike. So they may well have something "standard" that will fit. The only thing to be careful of is that we convert the Ducati to 8mm bolts from the standard 7mm. I'm not sure what the Laverda or Cagiva's used. I will try and check tonight I have an Alleta sprocket carrier at home.

Had a quick look last night the Cagiva Aletta is the same PCD but has 8mm bolts so to use them you would have to drill and tap the holder to 8mm instead of the standard 7mm.
