    750SEI Electronic ignition

I am considering converting to electronic ignition system after many years (purchased new in 1979) and 35000 miles of dealing with a points system..The idea of sticking advance mechanism, replacing failed condensers, and worn points is getting old.I would welcome comments pro and con on the available systems that exist.
    Thanks,
    Tom Beasley

The sachse electronic ignition will make the bike run much better you might also consider changing the HT coils for ones suitable for electronic ignition. The old HT coils are probably past there best and the new system will aid starting.
try Selwyn motorcycles in Balsham he normally stocks all these parts.

Where did you mount the control box so it would be out of the way and also watertight?

I mounted it under one of the side panels and fitted it in a waterproof enclosure box. The electronic ignition box is not waterproof, many owners who fitted them found the British weather too harsh for it.

I have received the electronic ignition from Burian and have a few questions on the install, the procedure from Sachse is not so clear.
    1. is it better to set # 1& 6 to top dead center before removing the old advance mechanism.
    2. is the old advance mechanism completely removed and replaced by the supplied driver sleeve and disc.
    3. I assume the advance curves are set by the rotary switch, which one worked best for you.
    4. what is the purpose of the n mark on the disc.
Maybe you could provide a basic procedure of the install.
    Thanks for your help.
