    Benelli 900 SEI Lucky Escape

Just got back home via the vehicle recovery, I went out for an early evening spin and headed to Buckingham I decided to refuel the bike at Tescos( 99 Ron Momentum fuel ). After filling the bike I noticed a trail of oil behind me that lead to my bike on closer inspection it was dripping from my engine. This is the second time this has happened this time on my other SEI the oil pressure switch fails and the oil starts to pump out the engine.
This switch is common on all Benelli multis of the 1970s and 1980s and connects to the oil pump under the left hand engine casing.from experience I would recommend replacing this as with age the plastic beneath the terminal connector goes brittle and let's the oil through. I was lucky to not have an accident as the oil was all over the back wheel!

BIG save there, well spotted. Just shows that it is such a good habit to have of visually inspecting your machine every time before use. Paid off big time, no accident or wrecked motor Top of the class that boy.
