I want to build a classic 350 Parade Racer

Hi, I have bought my first ever Benelli and am delighted to own a classic Italian, it is however, a bit on the rough side, so I have decided I want to make it into a 350 replica racer Oh not another I here you cry, well yes its a project I have always wanted to do and didn't want to go down the usual Honda route. I live on the Isle of Man so my plan is to ride the classic parade lap around the TT course.......

I believe it has been done many times by various owners so that is why I am posting here, I need advice regarding where I can get the various bits I need. I have found a couple of sites that do fibreglass tanks for Benelli 500 replicas so am thinking they should fit the frame? My biggest concern is to find an exhaust system, I want to fit the usual GP style black 4 into 4 up swept megas, so if anyone has bought or know where I can get them please let me know.

I would also like to fit a much smaller battery and change to Reg/Rectifier again advice would be gratefully received. I hope to keep a photo diary and make posts of my progress, the photo is what I am starting with.I want to build a classic 350 Parade Racer-photo-2-3-.jpg

I don't think we can ever have too many Benelli race replicas, so good luck with your project, and I look forward to seeing pictures of the progress.
It looks like you will have to find some nice spoked wheels, perhaps with drum brakes too. I know that the exhaust pipes you are looking for are available for the 500 so hopefully you can get them for your 350. Try Selwyn. He should be able to advise you. His number is listed in the suppliers post at the top of this section of the forum.

    Hi Mr Traydaloor,
Don't be too downhearted about the lack of responses to your first post. Classic era Benelli owners are few and far between, and I don't think many of them visit the forum too regularly. But, we are out there.
Meanwhile, I was thinking about your exhaust pipe question. You could try asking Swarbrick Racing whether they can help you. They do replica 4 into 4 exhausts for Hondas, and might be able to make something for you. They are in Lancashire, which should be handy for you.
Their website is Swarbrick Racing - Specialists in Competition Exhaust Systems - Lancashire - UK

    Hello again,
If you are in the Benelli club you will no doubt have seen in the latest issue of the club magazine the piece by Marcus King regarding his 250 four special. He had some very nice pipes made in Holland.
If you're not yet in the club, this could be reason enough to join.

Thanks Richard for thinking of me.

I am a member and have spoken to Marcus at length about the bike, he was very helpful and gave me lots of good advice including where to get the exhaust, in fact the guy in Holland does the lot exhausts, tank, seat, fairing etc...

Now to get a lot of cash together

Thanks for replying, the bike looks great more photos please.
I have spent many hours trawling the net and have had very good results, the guys in Holland seem to have the best choice they use the same supplier for the fibreglass parts but charge less than Discovolante, also good suppliers for megaphones with removable baffles, I can post my findings if anyone wants them.
