    250TS kick start tension

    After having a few issues with the kick start on my 250 TS, I decided to split the crank cases and have a look because something didn't seem right. I'm trying to put the kick start shaft back in but can't work out how it's supposed to go back. There is a spigot for want of a better term on the kick start shaft and a simililar one bolted to the upper crank case half as in the photos. Are these supposed to mesh together when the shaft is fitted? Also, how is the kickstart tensioned, is it simply a case of winding the shaft around when the crankcase halves are back together? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David

    I had this too ,but turns out its easier than you think
    Turn the kickstart shaft backwards about a quarter turn with molegrips or kickstart lever. then lower the top half of crank case onto the bottom but make sure the piece you are pointing to in the right photo fits under the piece you are pointing to in the left hand photo. The slope keeps the spring loaded cog away from the other until you use the kickstart. Hope I have explained ok as its a while ago now. I practised a few times before going for it with instant gasket etc
