    2c 12volt

    Hi
I'm thinking about a 12 volt conversion for my 250 2c. Powerdynamo probably. Are there any potential pitfalls? Do you get everything in the kit? Coils ,regulator etc. what about flasher unit and bulbs?
    Any info gratefully received
    Ta

Hi Mark, I have fitted 2 of these powerdynamos to an early and late 2c. The late 2c is the easiest, the kit contains the main bulk of items you need. You do need a 12 v battery, bulbs, flasher unit and horn. There is a mistake in the wiring instructions the neutral wire must not connect to the battery and the flywheel can rub on the outer casing. Fitting a gasket cures the flywheel catching the outer cover.
When fitted the lights are much better as the indicators, it also runs much better at low revs.
It is a great reliable upgrade to 30 plus year old ignition system.

I've finally got round to installing the PowerDynamo system and wonder how other people have mounted the ignition coil. It obviously doesn't fit on the old bracket so do I :-
1 Make a bracket that bridges the gap between the old bracket and the CDI bracket.
2 Cut the old coil bracket a bit shorter and bolt the new coil on to that
3 Just wedge the coil inside the steering head gusset.
