Has anyone changed from 6v to 12v, 4T Sport Special

Has anyone changed from 6v to 12v, looking at stator 12v plate lighting coils from a vespa looks like they might fit.

I can not tell if the coil of a Vespa will fit, However, it is possible to have the lightcoil re-wound, so that it supplies the required 12v, I use a bridge type rectifier, so instead of one end of the coil grounded, you have to connect both ends of the coil to the A/C input of the rectifier, also a electronic voltage regulator will improve the crude regulation system of this bike. I use a small 12 v battery, although it is strictly speaking not necessary tu run with a battery. The Ignition system of my Sport Special still runs on the original setup with the ignitoin coil and points.
