    Benelli Red Paint

After much searching I think I have found the paint code for Benelli red as used on the 250 2C and others, it is Fiat 171 Rossi Arrancio, or red orange in English. It is available as an aerosol from Halfords and other car part dealers if you want to try it. Here is a photo of my tinware which I’ve just got back from the painters after a six month delay waiting to find the right paint.

That tank and side panels look fab, great you found the right colour. Who sprayed tha for you? The pin striping looks so original.

Hi, the paint was done by a car bodyshop not far from where I live, PMH Autobodies of Rugeley. The pin-striping is a bit different to standard, the lower pair of stripes should be further away from the black and they are a tiny bit wonky towards the back of the tank! I’m not complaining, it cost less than half the price some of the bike specialists were quoting (£250, before you ask!) and the standard stripes were hand painted by Italian craftsmen so were a bit wonky too. The photo shows how my tank originally looked, the two sides were totally different.

Nice one Mike. Added to the paint codes sticky at the top. Is this red good for the 500 Quattro and 759 Sei as well then?

I’d imagine it’s the same for the Sei etc. I bought a can from Halfords to try and it was a good match with the tiny scrap of original paint I found stuck to the back of an ‘elettronica’ sticker from the sidepanels (my painter had me get the tank etc blasted before we realised that the paint code was so hard to find!)
If anyone wants a sample to compare with their original paint, I have pretty much a full can left so can spray out a test card and post it out to them.

I would like to get a sample of the red as I need to do a tank. I have 2 NOS red set side panels to check them against.
