    Benelli 250

I recently purchased this Benelli 250 as a project. It was represented as a 250 El Diablo. Iíve measured the bore and stroke which confirmed it is a 250, but I canít find any information on what it is. Any information from the group would be helpful. Iím going to need to order parts soon as I begin restoring.
thank you in advance for your he.

likely a 250 4 spd. but may be a 5 spd. Just a benelli sprite, with optional bodywork put on by the importer - Cosmopolitan Motors in Hatboro PA. They put the sportier bodywork, that was "rickman style" from the Benelli Mojave, and fitted it to the motobi style frame and egg engine. Benelli and Motobi were joined again at this point in the late 60s.

    Benelli Sprite identified

Thanks FBM, great information, Iím sure that will be most helpful locating parts. It is in fact a 5 speed. I purchased it to restore and take to Bonneville Salt Flats next year. Iím at Bonneville right now and Iím not sure this is the bike to bring back and set records next year. I may have an RD250 in my future, however, I will lavish love and attention on my new Benelli.
thanks to all of you on the forum helping us new guys.
    Michael

take a look at my 67 200 sprite thread. some picts and a vid are there. there is really no place to order parts from. ebay and a few collectors will have parts. mostly, you restore what you have. the price of parts will far outweigh the value. I put mine for sale at $3k, and there was no interest. if a Ducati? it would of went at $5k! lol

    Where are you located??????
