Exactly which MG model has the same fork as the later 750 sei? (Made by Benelli/Guzzi if I recall?)

I bought a really rough 78 sei and will be bringing it back to life.

Canuck750 sent me this reply and I went to MG Cyle and found all I needed.

“The 750 Sei forks are Guzzi items, they take 50cc of ATF, just pull the damper out and fill the tube, the fluid is just to prevent corrosion and not for damping. The dampers are sealed and the factory dampers are junk. Replace with FAC dampers for a Guzzi 850 Lemans (MG Cycle)”.

Do you need forks or are you rebuilding? From what I recall, MG Cycle had it all.......

I have not even gotten the bike here yet (it is shipping to me). I know it has been sitting a very long time and pretty rough. Forks appeared to be usable, but of course I will have to inspect tubes etc when I get it.

    thanks!

I’ll dig through my files and see if I can find the actual part numbers of what I ordered from MG Cycle. It all fit perfectly!

I have a Benelli 900 Sei and a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1. The forks appear to be to be the same. When I put a new set of dampers in the Benelli forks a couple of years ago, I ordered Guzzi LM1 items from Stein Dinse. I figured if they didn't fit the Benelli I could still use them in the Guzzi, but they fitted the Benelli's forks OK.

I’ve been trying to figure exactly which damper replacements I would need - assuming I use the FAC setup.
there are three different ones, it appears both the later 750s and 900 use the early LeMans setup?

I remained MG cycle but they could not really help at all.
Anyone know how to contact FAC?

My calipers are on the backside of the forks, but I know on my original sei I swapped them to the rear also- so I have no idea if stock or not. Pictures of the 900 sei show it on the rear, with just flex hose to them (that is how mine is currently).

    thanks for any help.

    Hi there,
This is Steve from Orlando. I think I bought the NOS Benelli exhaust system from you and met you down here in Florida?
I am restarting my Sei rebuild again after shelving it for years due to work.
If you have the Pt Numbers for the fork parts would be a great help. I have the fork seals and the Dust Shields just need everything else including the fork top assy's.
P.S Did you still need that spare frame VIN tag I have?

Steve..... sorry for the delay. Microsoft shut down our email and I have been stuck for a month! Just starting up a new one. I should have all the MG part numbers on a bill and will look on Wednesday. I will find your contact information and send you my new one.....
