    Catria finished at last!

Im delighted to report I have finally finished restoring my Catria after many years of ownership. Its a 175 Catria from about 1958. I had lots of problems with the engine after spending a fortune on it and even when sorted and running I couldnt get on with the kickstart on the right hand side with everything in the way when you try and use it. I had a new kickstart ratchet gear made which wasnt very successful. It would keep sticking and jamming. Eventually I acquired a 125SS 5 speed engine with the upgraded kickstart system on the left which suited me much better. I rebuilt this engine only to discover that it wouldnt fit the frame. After some subtle modification It fitted but then as the engine is about an inch wider than the 175 I found the sprockets didnt line up. I got round this by using a modified swing arm from a later bike. To cut a long story short, Its all together, registered and I'm loving riding it. I still live in hopes of getting a new kickstart gear so that I have the option of reinstating the 175 unit some time but in the meantime I'm really enjoying riding this bike!
I have started a FB group on Motobi's if anyone is interested.https://www.facebook.com/groups/2345477725692426/Catria finished at last!-finished-motobi-004.jpgCatria finished at last!-finished-motobi-005.jpgCatria finished at last!-finished-motobi-003.jpgCatria finished at last!-tank-transferes-001.jpg
