I think I used a copper washer.
If you could find one with the rubber sealing part on the inside it would be even better.
A smear of Hylomar and no leaks.
1973 250 SuperSport egg motor. Oil filter gasket: can I use an o-ring? I could cut a groove for it on the lathe. I tried making my own gasket out of pretty thick automotive gasket material, but it leaked. Or, should I just cut another out of thinner paper gasket material?

Hadn't thought of a copper washer. Good idea, I will see if I can source one.
Update- found it, sorted. I appreciate your advice!
