    Benelli W/R 50 Single - 12 Conv/elec Ign and carb question.

    Hi All,
Pleasant to read and gain a bit of knowledge from you erudite people.
I am wondering if any one has fitted the VAPE (https://www.vape.eu/en/benelli-montg...-riverside-250) conversion for the 250 to a 350 successfully,

And/or fitted a Dell Orto PHF30mm, I am struggling with jetting for this, I could almost believe the designer had my bone structure in mind when he designed this, I have ridden a few bikes
but this one I fit so perfectly.
    Thanks in advance,
    cheers from Lozza

The Vape conversion to 12 v system with electronic ignition is known as Powerdynamo in Europe. I have fitted 2 off these systems to Benelli 250 2c’s. They work very well and are straight forward to fit, you need to replace the horn, bulbs, flasher unit and battery to 12v as well. When fitted the bike tick over and ran so much better and the lights worked like a modern bike!
i can’t help you with carburation as that model was not sold in Europe!

    Thankyou Richard,
I have been unable to find any reviews on the VAPE in this application, I shall search on Powerdynamo and see what I can find.
I am want to go electronic to overcome hunting and make starting easier on old knees, 12v would be a bonus.

The carb was a gift and seemed a lot better than the Keihin which didn't run particularly well.
I suspect the mechanical advance is causing hunting, though a square slide of a Ducati 250 runs marginally better.

But on the shelf now as I have discovered an oil leak from the only head bolt that isn't enclosed,
seems an odd design that the right front one is exposed.

    Cheers, appreciate your information.
    Laurie
