    900 sei electronic ignition

Have just fitted a new electronik sachse electronic ignition system to my 900 sei. This has made a great deal of improvement to the running and tickover of the bike, it has improved the mid range power. Although the 28 year old Bosch ignition was still working this system is smaller and has a better ignition advance than the Bosch system. It was easy to fit and set up, i cant believe that a unit slightly smaller than a packet of cigarettes!can control 6 spark plugs!.

Nice one. Great when a mod. works better than you may have expected. What components were supplied and were they easy to fit and setup?
By the way, don't throw the old Bosch system away. They're worth some money as I've just found out.

    Hi Richard,
Can I be rude enough to ask what these cost? Now you've got the Sachse you can junk those pink ND coils.... they produce a reliable but weak spark.

    900 sei electronic ignition

Hi Vince the system cost me 375 euros from Benelli de in germany, but i have since found out that Selwyn motorcycles sells these units. the kit consists of 1no electronic ignition box the pick up heads, rotor and all necessary wiring. The instructions are straight forward but the existing wiring does need modifying a little.

    Hi Richard,
Does the set up come with 3 sockets to provide direct connection to the existing 3 plugs that come from the 3 coils?

Hi Vince, you do have to remove the three plugs that go into the old bosch ignition boxes but is straight forward and easy to set up.

I'm confused does the Sachse system reuse the existing Bosch pickups?

The sachse system has new pick ups and rotor to fit instead of the bosch pick ups.
