    Benelli Velvet Dusk 400cc

    Good day!

I'm a new user of this forum and made an account just to ask some questions about my engine.
I've recently bought a Benelli Velvet Dusk 400cc 1 cilinder 4 stroke scooter.
I took it appart because of a rattle inside.
Since i've sorted the problem i'm looking for some parts but those are really hard to find!
Does anybody know where to buy the following parts:

    distributionchain
    distributionchain shoes (upper en lower)
    chaintensioner
    oil filter

I'm sorry for my English. I'm from the Netherlands wich make it a little harder.
I'll hope you can help me!
    Greetings,

    Namleppa

I do not know the answer but just wanted to make sure that your question did not get ignored. You might try contacting Maniac Motors in Germany, or check out the Dutch Benelli site here Home

Good luck (and you English is MUCH better than my Dutch!)

    Hi
With just 10 of these modern rarities sold in the UK there is not much info. The importer of these was 3X Motorcycles of Wimbourne, Dorset, UK who are still in business but not dealing with Benellis and the shop they come from is Wallisdown Scooters in the Bournemouth area. They may be able to help you. The Benelli Motobi club UK does have a road test of this model with a little info but NO parts source. The engine used is under much discussion but in the write up does state that it was made by Franco Morini for Benelli which is possible, although others are convinced it is a Suzuki Burgman engine. You have a raw and very fast scoot there, hope you get it together and post a pic on here.
    Cheers Steve

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your comment.
I've checked my engine (wich is all in parts now) and my cilinder tells me it's a Gilardonni for Motori Morini.
I also checked the engineparts of a Suzuki Burgman 400 but that's a whole other enginetype.
This engine is the same as used in a Malaguti Madison 400 and an Italjet Marco Polo 400 (really rare maxiscooter)
Although I think it's really nice I have such a rare maxiscooter it buggs me a lot that i can't just order some parts.
My headgasket and basegasket had to be ordered from Spain, the chain had to be ordered from Italy and I still can't find any guiders.
I'm doubting right now to just buy an engineblock from italy with the cilinder, guiders, chain etc.
    What is your opinion?
    Greetings,

    Jeroen/ Namleppa

    Thanks!
Too bad that website only sells brakepads and sparkplugs..
I might be going to buy a complete engine.

They have a lot of parts but no guiders for 400cc. Only for 125cc. I've send them an email.
    Thanks anyways!!
