    Very worrying.
It that is the "now " attitude, they will now not register imports ,
You can not get a CoC , it would not comply or meet emissions, (present requirements )
SVA costs an absolute fortune to apply and complete plus what emission will they accept .

Thanks for the heads up, that ,s the last thing I will bring in. Brexit or not.
I thought the European attitude was blunt.
It appears the DVLA one is God we make the rule , we enforce it , Jog on .

bits of importance , particularly the bit about import tax, the dreaded VAT giving the minimum of information on the forms etc

Well I am sorry you have such a problem .
I will be interested in knowing where you are going to get this MSVA performed, it used to be the VoSa testing stations (glorified super MOT).
They don,t exist anymore, (as far as I know ) please let us know where they are telling you to obtain the test completed .
This test is from 2013, how much is it going to cost ?
Some of the DVLA info relates to the SVA from 2013 , this became IVA in 2017 .

It does not apply to motorcycles over 10 years old ! look at your Vin number.

Have you thought of contacting a specialist importer , to at least get some guidance on how they now operate ?

Hell , that is one massive can of worms you have opened , I was bloody lucky in the past , I even personally imported a car in from Japan, I had to get an IVA at Avonmouth VoSa station, and yes, the tester was an absolute little Hitler, even requesting a seat belt sticker on the passenger sun visor ! I got one from the scrap yard up the road ! stuck it on. Pass, it fell off as I drove out of the test station !

I bet they make you change the headlight, emissions could be a problem, depending on what they apply (year of manufacture) They will of course re check vin and engine numbers, I hope they are clear and show no sign of alteration. (Instant fail ) .

I wish you luck , but please keep us informed , all info is good info.

    Ill see what they say.

Moto GB were worse than useless. They said because that model (checked with the chassis no.) wasnít officially imported here they couldnít help with a CoC. I said if it had been officially imported here, I wouldnít need a CoC. I asked Bennets to help, they said speak to motoGB!!
I tried Maniac motors in Germany, They said ďit is not possible as CoC is only supplied to registering dealer at first registration when vehicle is newĒ
I have a contact in Pesaro who I have been emailing since June. He said it was possible to supply a CoC if I sent photos of bike, chassis no. French reg document, etc. I duly did this and he said he had passed my request to the homologation dept. Then went quiet for 2 months. Now person in the homologation dept is on a Ďbusiness tripí and should be back íthis weekí

You can see why iím getting a tad frustrated

itíll be worth it in the end. Itís a great little bike. Iíve ridden it on closed roads and it really flys, although since I put the stock pipe back on it itís a bit muted

    Interesting !

From memory , take all the French documentation with you and put the French plate on the bike, point out not only its registration date ,but also the year of manufacture , vin plate.
the headlight can be corrected , by a sticker to avert the beam spread, you can cut your own, and stick it on. As long as the beam spread ,does not divert to the offside , its a pass.
unless they rolling road the bike on rollers, they will not realise the clocks are klms , not miles .
If it passed an Mot , it should pass a MSVA.

I am will to bet, if you produce the mot you have and the French equivalent from previous , they will do a VIC. Thats Vehicle identity check ,yes its a bike and it matches the paperwork.
look at the bike, check the numbers against the documentation, give it a kick as they walk by. Pass, £85 please , thank you , jog on..

    Heres hoping!

The clocks are switchable between Kmh and mph.

They wont pass it with a sticker on the light, but itís already passed a uk mot!

Again, thanks for all your input, itís appreciated
