    TNT build date identify

hey all....i'm in the US and looking at a TNT sport that is advertised as an 08 i notice it doesn't have a CF front fender or a belly fairing. i have no doubt the owner thinks it's an 08 but it looks like an 05 based on the Benelli web site. anyway does anyone know how you tell from the vin number?

The 11th didget aparently gives you the buil date mine is 6 meaning 06 but I bought it new this year as an 09 model. What I have found out is if it does not have a cat then it is pre 07. There is no other diferences between 04 and 09 other that a cat and some have a belly pan.
I had jap bikes now for some euro trash

    VIN Explanation
Here's how to read a Vehicle Identification Number.

    17 characters in length

    1-3: Country code/Manufacturer
    --- eg. ZBN is Italy/Benelli

    4-8: Model
    --- eg. TB000 is Tornado
    --- eg. B3TR8 (or B?)

9: check digit - ignore it

    10: Assembly Year
    --- eg. 3 is 2003
    --- eg. 5 is 2005

    11. Assembly Plant
    --- eg. P is Pesaro

    12-17: Serial Number

    Charley,
No differences other than colours! On 04/05 TNT's, rear subframe is silver not black and the alloy swingarm carrier is un-powdercoated!
    Viva la difference!
    Cheers.

I recall a dealer in NY saying all Benelli's in the U.S. are 07's and that they may be re-vin'd as newer.

    Year differences

    Hi,
The early TNTs don't have a power control button on the dash and the idiot lights etc. are proud along the top of the clocks, opposed to built into the dash on the 07 onwards. (I think)

Wouldn't that be breaking a few laws?
