    Battery/alarm question

I think I need to replace the battery on my Tornado, it was sluggish to start today, and the bat message on the dash stayed on for a while after I got it going. My bike has an alarm on it though, so is it just a case of alarm off, remove the cables and swap it out?

    Cheers

Hi, don't be in too much of a panic to simply replace the battery. Put it onto a trickle charger for a few days, you may find that the alarm has slightly drained the battery - a lot of alarms do.
Mine does not have an alarm, but I keep mine on a permanent (voltage feedback regulated) trickle charger. Buy yourself a decent trickle charger.
Hope this saves you the cost of a battery.
    Rgds, Les

Hi Les, thanks for the reply.

I do keep it on a trickle charger, and it was still a pig to start today. Looking at the paperwork, the battery is 5 years old now so probably tie or new one. Just don't want to set that bloody alarm off!

I have an old Datatool 3 fitted to mine.
Just put the alarm into service mode and then you can change the battery. From memory i believe my alarm beeped every 5 minutes or so to indicate it was in service mode, but did not activate with the battery out.

    Cheers
