    Engine sourcing

    Hi All,

I haven't posted in a while , as I fear my Benelli ownership may begone up in a cloud of smoke. What do you mean you didn't see it , the cloud was visible for miles !!!!!!
Anyhow after a long wait I have had the engine dropped, and split , and the prognosis is not good.
I am in need of a new engine for the my Benelli Tornado.
I am actually in need of a new set of exhaust valves , valve guides and colletts , but these look very expensive and by the time there are sourced and fitted it doesn't make economic sense. Unless someone can direct me towards this kit , for reasonable money. More realistic option is to try source a complete 900 engine , so if anyone knows where one of these may be had.

    Thanks

    Kevin

For valves if you have a pattern you could try G&S valves They will make them to match the pattern.

I will ask my mechanic to pursue this approach if needs be. We will take our time , and assess our options - its taken 15 months to get here

Maniac Motors keep used spares as a cheaper option. I bought a set from them some time ago to rebuild a 900 that had a cam chain guide issue. The original Tornado had a different valve/collet to the rest of the tre's, and it is best to update the lot. You don't want to mix them up.
If you want originals, I have half a set (the other half are bent)

I've got a spare 900 engine in my garage. (as you do )

No idea of the condition as it has sat on the shelf since I bought it a while ago. Looks as though the casings have been apart at some point by the look of the sealant around the joints.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
