    Have I missed something

Just browsing eBay like you do and all the 900 tornados are £5/6k regardless of miles. Not complaining , but last time I checked youd get a minter for 3.5k !?

there is collector value, but also, there is a real usage of the bike.

Engenia is giving a 140.000kms life to the bike, thats inspiring and could some one believe its a safe bike for commuting

The cooling system isn't up to the challenge of commuting. You'd need to replace the mechanical water pump with an electric one.

prices seem to have risen across the board in the uk for second hand bikes. Not many bikes were sold 10 yrs or so ago ( during the financial crash,) so demand for affordable two wheels (over public transport) is outstripping supply.
None of my bikes were bought as investments but they are doing a damn sight better than my pension plan at the moment!
