Peter this still bothers me, despite your last post after the bike ran OK for 30km. Is the length of the new injectors the same as the originals? Your latest post renews my interest in fitting these if it can get rid of the flat spot between 3200 and 3500 but it sounds as though the new injector bodies are shorter. I have never removed the injectors to see how they fit but after reading Errol's comments I wonder if they might require modification to the fuel rail brackets to lower the rail so they are held captive properly. Also, how did you go trying to connect Tune ECU with a re-charged battery?
Injectors are the same length. They are the same Denso part number recommended on the forum. They just seem to have a slightly different moulding at the top that the clips don't fit. They are the same size as my old injectors, but the may be non standard as well. EuroBikes Noosa put in new NGK plugs at 7200. These were destroyed after 700 km so I replaced them with new NGK plugs. He centre electrode on the first set was burnt out. The new set started to misfire after 5km. I fitted the Brisk ones because they don't have an outer electrode to get fouled by excess fuel. The bike still does not run to my satisfaction. It has the roll off issue and also is slightly surgey on a trailing throttle. But at least it pulls cleanly on acceleration.

Ahh yes Trevor it's a peach...
My concern here is that Peters bike has gone through two sets of plugs in less than 8200 km or miles ? ..
The mixture or firing timing must be way off surely . If that were mine I'd get the fuel to air checked out sharpish. Sorry Peter if it sounds a bit negative

    Thanks Rick,
After I shipped the bike up to Queensland, with 7200 km on the clock, it would not start. I put it on a truck to the local Benelli dealer who got it running. The remapped it, fitted new plugs and a Yuasa battery. It still cut out and ran rough at 3000 revs. I then fitted the Denso injectors which made it a little better. At 7800 km I changed the plugs that had "burnt out? ".I have now got tuneecu working with the trek401 installed. I increased the idle to 1500 rpm to try to stop it stalling. The throttle percentage is jumping between 4-8., the TPS from 5-15 with the idle trim CO at 1.0. It raining again here so I can't on got a test ride yet.

Hi Peter I'm getting it now maybe the 401 map you have needs tweaking still. Here's a couple of screen shots of my tune ecu whilst the bike is running, diagnostic and test page. just for you to compare any differences with yours . Not sure if it'll help but you never know .
When I got my Trek last year it was a bit of a bitch until I changed the plugs and map to Trevors.. although it was still troublesome spinning over even on a brand new Motobatt AGM battery .
All modes have been carried out on this motor .

So I fitted A Lithium lifepo4 battery and it's been Amazing ever since , you'll notice the voltage bottom left on the photos .
    All the best Rick

My map is just an altered 401 map on the dyno, so maybe worth a go. Getting about 300K's to a tank now, but still smells fuelly, and soot on the topbox.

    Thanks guys.
I downloaded Trevor's map from Dropbox and installed it. Thanks for that.
Bike startled and idled OK but seemed a bit off. All the readings on Tuneecu were good. When I took it for a ride it was down on power but was clean and even otherwise. Pulled over and saw that number 2 cylinder wasn't firing.
Any ideas before I check the plug and injector?

Maybe check the coil stick, they seem to be mentioned as a failure point here a lot. To the point where I'm considering purchasing one just to have in the spares kit.

Yeah, I bought a coil stick to modify a few months ago. Will give it a try after checking the plug and injector

Thanks, I pulled out No. 2 plug which was a bit wet and dried it. It now runs OK. Just out of interest for you use 95 or 98 RON?
