If you have a look on engenia.com.au
Errol has a manual in the general/manuals section.

i think people have mentioned that the instruments are not necessary for the engine to run. Have you checked the relays under the seat or that a wire has been missed off the battery?

    thanks gbo

the battery leads are ok 2 posative and 2 to negative .the problem might be in the relays but i dont think so as mine has 5 relays and my 2 workshop manuals differ on areas of the wiring. i have checked the relays on mine
    1 controls the fuel pump
    2 injection
    3 headlight dip beams
    4 headlight high beam
    5 fan relay

my manual (trek 1130 ver 01 june 2009) sugests that these relays should have 12ohms resistance between pins 30 and87 mine has no resistance sugesting to me that as the ecu controls them it may be the problem

anyone know will my model (2014 with newer athena ecu start and run without the instrument panel connected also any information on whether the later (athena) ecu had differing wiring
    thanks

One of the connectors would of gone to the tip over switch and the other to the side stand switch .
That's what mine go to anyway . 🙂
