    Tre k mirror head removal

Does anyone know how to remove the mirror head from the stem on the tre k? I am wanting to powder coat them (the stems not the head obviously) thanks.

A good hacksaw should do it

Well that’s about all I expected. I was kinda hoping to reuse them.

Sorry mate. No idea. My Tre-K has aftermarket mirrors/indicators.

From Rick's post it sounds like it might not be easy. Perhaps painting them might be a simpler solution if they're looking scruffy.

Glynn the way the glass was fitted is key.

Removing it will allow access to the fixings , however the glass is bonded to a plastic backing plate that has three one way push pins on it that locate into three plastic receptors on the main mirror body.
It's looks like a one way install kind of thing .
It may be possible to get to the fixing nut from behind the reflective backing behind the orange plastic but you'd need to cut an chunk off it to expose the area .
I'd not recommend that myself .

My advice is dont even try. The glass is bonded in and will break at the first try. The knuckles are weak also and will snap easily.
Just rub them down and spray with some satin black.
