    Tre-k Chain & Sprockets

    Hi Guys,

My Tre-k 1130 has done 19k and needs a new chain and sprockets.
I bought a DID Chain and sprockets for the bike off ebay but they have sent 16 front 36 rear. The original ones are 16 front 34 rear.

I'm wondering if anyone has fitted a bigger rear sprocket? By lowering the gearing with a 36 is it better (obviously slightly quicker acceleration) or should I return it for the correct 34?

Yes I did the 36 rear sprocket for a while ... It's kind of fun but a little annoying on th motorways ..so I went back to a 34 rear .. interestingly the top speed didn't change much with the 36

So did the revs increase considerably at motorway speeds?

Yes it did . Roughly 700rpm from memory
For me it wasn't worth having .
Mind you If I were riding in heavily populated areas often or through lots of small villages I would of kept it on as it was great at riding in 6th at 25mph .

I wanna try a 36 tooth rear sprocket (from original 34) on my Tre-K. The only Australian supplier I can find that stocks a suitable sprocket is Metal Gear.

I reckon I'm limiting my search by specifying Benelli. Does anyone know whether there's another (more common) brand of bike that uses the same mounting dimensions as the Benelli triples?

Specs are: Centre hole 76mm ID; 5 bolt holes on 100mm PCD.

Well, seeing as I haven't exactly been overwhelmed with replies, I went ahead and bought a 36T sprocket from Metal Gear. Nice quality product and quick delivery. Fitted it to the bike last night, along with a new rear tyre. Hope to get out for a road test on the weekend when this lousy weather clears up.
