Question on placement of electrical connector

I got the Amazonas back from the shop and am wondering about placement of an electrical connector.

This does not seem to be where it was before. Can anyone verify that this connector belongssitting on the engine as depicted?

Seems that engine heat would not be a good thing on this piece.

Can TREK owners check their bikes and put my mind at ease.

It's not that hot there. It'll be fine.
When the tank's off one day, you could try tucking it out of sight.
