OK will be loading some pics of my restoration, Frame and black parts back and lots of other stuff in the works. Spokes gone off to Buchanan as they didn't have a spoke kit for a Sei. 40 straight for the front wheel and 18 of each inner/outer for the rear wheel. Hopefully they will give me a reasonable rate for polished Stainless spokes and nipples. Rims/Hubs off for Vapor Blasting after removing all the bearings. Down to the bearing shop this week to get all 6 bearings. All shafts/axles/mounting bolts to be blasted and zinc plated. Would like to get an nice rolling chassis before putting the engine in. Engine freed up and the rocker/covers off for polishing to make it look mint.........progress at last.....
P.S Tins going to guy who did OEM bodywork on Hardley's for 35 years....so reckon he should be able to do a nice Sei Red with the correct black/white stripes. Caswell lining going in tomorrow if wxr is ok then off to paint...

Carbs

Also stripped down the Dellorto carbs today. Damn they are like a work of art, all steel bits were polished ready for re-assembly. All bodies were stripped of jets etc and have gone off to vapor blasting then ultra sonic cleaning. trying to trace carb kits for VHB 26 S....

The 2 Benelli's, The complete one is being used as a reference. The one in boxes was in much worse condition but here's the start. Will post more details pics as I start getting on with it.

The Frame and all black parts have been powder coated Gloss/Satin as required. A lot more polishing on engine to do while I wait fro engine plates coming back from chrome and engine studs and axle's etc from zinc.
Wheels and hubs are being vapor blasted (Heard that the Borini rims come out really nice by this method). Still trying to source a spoke supplier. Buchanan's qoute was extortionate............

I was thinking exactly that thought. Even 2 would struggle getting that engine in through the upright frame. Just waiting for the engine plates and engine bolts to come back from chrome/zinc plating. Still have lots more polishing to do on the engine also......

Orlando,
Just one thing more. While the frame is bare have you got good clean earth points on the frame? Now is the easiest stage to get them right. Your spare bike will show the points!
Ian
Just looked at the reference bike and the main earth comes from inside the left rear frame bracket so OK there. There is one more down to the bottom of the battery case which will be no problem. I will make sure each coil mounting is grounded properly. Just finished my seat restore came out really nice. Waiting for bits to come in from the platers now.

Damn, started putting a few bits on my bike that looked OK on the shelf. Trouble is they look crap compared to everything else I,ve done so far. Looks like its going to be a complete nut and bolt restoration now  (Went down that road with the Kawasaki H2C I've just completed)

Hi There, eventually back on the planet. Sold my Kawasaki H2C Resto so now have time and funds to start the Sei again.
George beautiful 76 Sei restoration has given me incentive to get on with mine now. Back to square one and need to sort the damn steering head bearings. Want and need tapers so start there.
It's great to be back among other Sei enthusiasts again and learn all the tricks from you to help out later down the line…...

Hey Tom,
Nice to hear from you.
I would love to check out the bike and take some pics of it.
Believe it or not having lived here for over 10 years I,ve never been to bike week.
I have your number and will probably try to get up there this year.
Thanks and speak to you later.

Daytona

Sorry Tom missed Daytona again…..will make it next year now going to be a priority for me.
While waiting for fork parts and chroming/polishing bits to come back made some progress on some sub-assemblies.

Found a set of OEM CEV Turn signals in UK for 32 GBP for complete set. He had 4 sets wish I had bought them all.
Original stems I found had incorrect thread for the turn signals so had to change them from 10 x 1.75 to 10 x 1.5.
I can only find 3 of the stems, does anybody have a spare? If not will have to make one. These 3 stems can now go to rechrome.

Cleaned up harness and powder coated bowl. Managed to get a NOS Aprilia 40821 headlight ring online and the correct thick rubber gasket for US models from a Ducati dealer.Looks nice now its al together.
