Hi!
Thought I'd post my message, as a new member.

I live in Hampshire and have recently bought an '05' RS.

The bike has now done 6K and been recently serviced - Seems to be fine so far and have only a dodgy indicator switch to sort out (it is not centering).
KJM are on this..

Love the bike and would just like to add that it was this site that encouraged me to take the plunge and buy the bike.

I get to ride a lot of bikes and most recently the MV '312'...The Benelli
still feels special, attracts huge attention and the engine note is utterly addictive!
Glad to be aboard....

Hey There Lonely Boy....

Welcome RSmySOUL:rolling:

Good to see another owner in deepest darkest Hampshire! It gots lonely down here sometimes!

Whereabouts are you?
Good to hear from you! I'm in Winchester, and you?

Haven't seen any Benelli's on the road, other than visiting 3X - But perhaps the problems keep yours 'in dock'?

Hoping mine was a 'Thursday bike' and not a 'Friday afternoon special'...
we'll see!

Welcome RSmysoul,

Nice, very fast bike.... :) Think the Benelli looks better though....
Stephen,
I rode a red one - (They're faster!)
The '312' goes like stink and makes an awesome noise..The Benelli is every bit as stunning and when parked at the dealers receives just as much interest.

Choosing between the two is a 'win win' situation!

Thanks for the reply.

You are just around the corner from me - I am in Bursledon. If you know Rob Willsher's - the Suzuki dealership on Lowford Road, my back fence just abut backs onto their workshop!

As for my Friday afternoon special, it is currently sat in Red Dog's in Edenbridge awaiting it's 6750 service and also getting the leaky fork problem sorted!

I am quietly confident that this shop will re-install my confience in the dealership network! I wouldn't touch 3X with my ex wife's Rampant Rabbit, let alone my own barge pole - I bought the bike from them and had 0% help when things went wrong!

ahh another satisfied member!!!

so to speak!!! Good to have you join us mate. Italian women may be a bit fiddly but they sure are fun to ride! Also, it is a scientifically proven and accepted fact that the silver/green is the fastest color. Has to do with reds energy absorbtion rates in the near infrared spectrum or something. Cheers mate!

I know exactly where you live - Not far at all.
Use to live in Netley Abbey, in a past incarnation.....

Would be good to catch-up next season and really feel for you having so many problems.

As to 3X - It doesn't help your experience; But I know, first-hand that the original owners of Benelli were not honouring payments for many of the warranty claims handled by 3X.
It was financially crippling them and they were glad to terminate the relationship.

Lessons have been learned...and you should have had better treatment.

I can imagine how I'd feel if I'd paid ÂŁ23K for an LE

KJM put a lot of legwork into restoring customer confidence, as many on this site will agree.

There is a stark contract between the 'good-will' offered to new car owners and us bikers:
A colleague's 9 year old, 120K miles BMW just had paintwork done under warranty....Now about that scuffed black paint, on my swinging arm?

Oh trust me, it doesn't just stop with the Benelli brand - thats why I tend to shy away from double cross now!

I should have leant first time around regarding their treatment of bikers. I brought back a tax free Triumph in 2000 from Germany (advantages of being a squaddie) they were my local dealer I used to live in West Moors, the next village along from them. When I needed support because there were a few things going wrong (funnily enough blown engine / fairing fixing points snapping) they wouldn't help at all - stating they wouldn't help because they had too much work on and as I didn't by the bike from them they weren't responsible for helping me; I couldn't even give them money for servicing the damn thing because they wouldn't touch it!

I ended up having to take the Trumpet to Rafferty Newmans in Fareham - now they are a nice friendly dealership!

Anyway, yes it would be good to meet up, as long as I am in the country for next season.

Guys,
Silver and Green looks great: The RS only comes in red or yellow and guess I'll have to get used to watching your yellow cooling fans disappearing, towards the horizon!

That said: In the evening sunshine 'Benelli Red' glows and makes Ducati Red look like organic ketchup...

I bought a new Triumph at 3X in '99' and they couldn't fit me -in for my first service.
Had to have my new bike off the road for several weeks, that summer.

The whole bike dealer thing is a complete lottery - 'Rafferty's' messed me about with the 'sale or return' on a Speed Triple:
Deducted the retail cost of a full service from the proceeds of my sale.

If you're anything like me: the more you change bikes, the greater the risk
of hitting problems..

On the bright side: Met a guy, last week who had been stung ÂŁ840 for a 16K service on his VFR V-Tech.

Let's hope you're not sent anywhere 'sandy' next season...

Regards
Stephen

Stephen, not sandy, but hopefully definately hot. I am due to retire from the forces in August, but finish work in May - have the potential for a nice little job in the south of France coming up! I may be living on the Cote D' Azur for the summer!
