Thanks to Laurence I have a fully operational clutch!!!! Bike is much better, still noisy but from the engine now and not the clutch!!!! Ran it up and down the gears on stand and all seems good. Quickshifter seems about right at 70ms kill time but will check when out on the road.

Also so fitted the gipro gear indicator and set it up, works great!! However after removing the clocks, my temp now reads -30!!!! Is this fixable???

Check the connection of the ambient sensor at the back of the clocks as I seem to remember that it displays the default temperature of -30 if it's not connected.

Will, just the connectors behind the clocks bud. Really to see if it's different to mine!! I am pretty sure I have the correct one connected but for some reason the temp now shows -30???

Awkward- I can't see any connectors behind mine, they're all covered in loom tape.

I'll have a route around now

Now bear with me, the last photo just about shows the only two connectors I have behind my clocks.

They are wired (hard to see, but)

Red & black to Black and black

Black & black to Red and black.

I thought this wouldn't be right but they were sealed in some random rubber sheath so that's never been touched and must be right.

Hope that helps ?

Thanks mate,

OK, the 2 connectors you show in the bottom pic are the same 2 i have but i only have one that actually has a male and female (it has 2 black wires coming in and going out????) the other has a red/black wire going in but nowhere to connect it to (see my pic above).

Can anyone tell me what these are actually for?? INdicators etc.... as the connectors at the rear of mine that i can connect have black/black wires which also connect to black/black????? The red/black connector will not fit???

I'm stumped by the difference between our two bikes!!!

Q: do you have the Meta alarm?

Have you found the following part(see photo) anywhere?

This is the 'black/black' wire that connects to the loom. Either it's the external Temp sensors or the Receiver for the alarm fob.

I could tell you for certain but I'm away from my laptop and this wiring diagram.

I was going to draw it out on a board and affix my loom to it with labels etc etc and fully test as my bike still isn't running right. (Just haven't had a moment)

I do have an alarm bud it's a data tool. The blk/bulk wires I've connected seem to be from the temp sensor but the only other connector behind the clocks is a red/blk but the block doesn't fit the blk/blk block??

Ok got my spare loom out just for you (feel special)

(Ps I know my cave is a mess- lots of projects and moaning misses , the house needs this that and tuther, turn the lights off any everything is black so what do I care about curtain colours??)

Anywho, you should see 3 x2 pin Female connectors just back from the main clocks loom.

The black/black (loom side) connects to an LED diode (Red/Black)

The Red/Black (loom side) connects to the little sensors type wire Black/Black (photo just previous.

The Yellow/Black connects to the side light, also Yellow/Black.

Now either the RED/BLACK on your loom goes to an alarm (Meta)

or that little sensors type thing is the Temp sensor and you've misplaced ?

do you have your air box temp sensor relocated to the front of the bike? If so the reading on the clocks is purely cosmetic anywho and won't make a difference to fuelling/running.

I don't want you stripping the bike for no reason- I'll look when I get home on the wiring diagram for you too.

Great thanks buddy....

OK, i have seen the yell/black wires for the side lights............thats ok

I have the red/blk loom connector on mine but have nowhere to connect it to??

I haent seen the large black block connector on mine but may be wrapped in sheath still.

As for the actual temp sensor, it is buried in the front of the nose fairing cable tied to the front sub frame so assume that should be on the airbox??????

One of the 2 pin connectors behind the clocks is for the ambient temperature sensor which is cable tied to the front sub frame, the other is for an alarm LED if you have the Benelli recommended Gemel alarm fitted.

No

The air intake sensor that originally were fitted to the airbox are often relocated to the front of the bike to prevent heat soak from the engine. However, it has nothing to do with the connectors at the back of the clocks.

:) glad you've said that else I'd have been looking for mine whilst she's stripped. Is this the ambient temp sensor then;

And yes Andi the air box temp sensor should have been moved to where you say it is, prevents it mis reading the air temperature causing fuelling issues I was told. Every one I've seen has had it done.

I remember thinking why is there a bit bolt in my air box that isn't attached to anything before I knew it was a blanking plug

Brilliant, I was 90% sure it were.

Right Andi you are looking for a double bonded cable, 'Black/Black' mine has about 30cm of length and it has been zip tied to the O/S mirror frame stalk so it will either be in the same place or within 30/40cm of the back of your clocks I rekon. Has probably been disconnected and connected to some other plug or is just being illusive :/
