So on the minus side, the clutch cable snapped while filtering 8 lanes of the 405 today.

On the plus side, it went one strand at a time, making shifting harder and harder, until I passed the overturned 40' bayliner blocking 5 lanes and was able to zip onto the margin in first, then limp off the freeway and into a grocery store parking lot. A $20 cab ride and I was only 10 minutes late to work!

BUT

Now I need to pay $90 to get it transported home and then

A) get Barnett to make me a custom one (probably two 'cuz this sucks): Genuine Barnett Cables

B) Order two replacements from Alex at Maniac 'cuz this sucks.

C) Spend 145 euro on the Evotech and try and figure out the rest of the bits to make it work: Evotech s.r.l.

D) Splurge 495 euro or so on the full hydraulic kit from Maniac.

Welcome to opinions. Particularly "C" as the rest of the bits are kind of undefined...

thers er sa conversion on here somewhere using an Aprilia or Ducati mater and slave cylinders it's something I've been pondering over, as it's not the nicest action on the Tornado....the TNT is fantastic by comparison.

Yeah, I'm feelin' the hydraulic conversion. The only real question is:

A) Turnkey Maniac Motors

B) Evotech

C) Cobbled-together Ducati/Aprilia per that other thread

D) The last of the Evoluziones: Hydraulic Clutch Conversion Kit for Modern Model Benelli Tornado Tre Le Others | eBay

Leanin' towards (A) for the simple reason that I sure do like having someone to ask questions of when it doesn't work...
I have A - complete kit from Maniac , one of the best improvement on my TnT - 50 % lighter and no worries about wire faults .

I'm seriously looking at the same. I'd be really interested to know which way you go and what the outcome is. I'm commuting on the Trek at the moment and the clutch is a pain. I think the cable is waiting to go...

I experienced some significant scope creep on the issue.

After talking to Alex and the guy with the Evoluzione, I decided to go with Alex's kit, but instead of going with the vanilla master I bought a Brembo RCS. And then, of course, I have to match up the brakes, which is another Brembo RCS. And hey, since the bike is sitting for a while, might as well take the headers in to get powder coated.

So by the time it's back together again, it'll be a different bike... now if only that DHL guy would hustle!

Sorry, I missed this. Mine was a DIY conversion, I used an after-market RSV Mille slave with a home made adapter and a Honda Fireblade master cylinder. It's had quite a few miles put on it now and it's a delight to use.

Ooo cheaper and and better looking. Now to find a master cylinder.

Need a measurement asap

Could one of you fine fellows that has done the hydraulic conversion (or someone with a newer hydraulic clutch) kindly measure from banjo to banjo and give me that dimension? Alex neglected to include a clutch line and I'd like to get all this foofraw installed this week. It would also be great if you could take a shot of the fitting at the slave cylinder. I'll probably be going with these:

Universal Brake lines

Many thanks... you would not *believe* the chaos necessary to get these parts across the Atlantic.

The details of my clutch conversion and the adapter plate I made are in this thread.

The adapter shown in that thread worked perfectly, and was relatively easy to make (it could have be made without a lathe) but I made a more complex one piece adapter plate from thicker material for the final version (it doesn't require the alloy spacer from the Aprilia RSV). The original went to another forum member, so I can't offer it to you unfortunately.
