Hi all
Just returned from a trip to Germany!
Trek running like a bag of S...?
90 miles per tank (expensive)....black smoke belching out of exhaust can.
Contacted Matt at Bennets and he suggested a TPS Fault!
Also radiator fans fuse constantly blowing.....I don't know if this is related?

What do I require to re-set my TPS on my 2008 Trek 1130?

tps

Hi all
Received my tuneecu cables off stingerwolf to reset my tps. Thank's!

My question is: does the engine have to be running to do this?

I have read somewhere on this site, that the throttle position on the walbro ecu is set at closed position and also full throttle position!
Confused?

Hi All
Rigged my Tune-ecu cables to the Trek and installed the Trek 401 map off Tune-ecu!
I used the economy setting(button in-light off) as not to disturb the map which bennetts loaded!
401 Map installed successfully but when I reset the TPS, the engine note changed immediately showing it was trying to reset, but the green confirmation light did not come on even after 20 minutes ticking over.
I had to turn the engine off @ 120 degrees(unfortunately the fans are not working)
I don't know if the fans kicking in(if they were working) is part of the TPS reset
Bike still running rough!
I noticed on the test application in Tune-ecu that when the throttle is opened fully, it only reads 80%?
Does anyone know where the fan relay is?(Fans still blowing its fuse)

Oooh. Bad news. Hope you backed up your map, because you dump them two at a time... so in writing 401 to your bike, you overwrote the Bennett's map!

The fans are *not* part of the TPS reset. The TPS reset is solely the throttle position sensor (TPS).

Fan relay should be in with the relays, which are under the seat...

Shop manual, section 7, page 37. Pretty sure it's, left to right as you sit on the bike, (1) fuel pump (2) Fans (3) Fuel Injection (4) high beams (5) low beams.

I'm not sure why your throttle position sensor only reads 80% at full throttle. However, correction/calibration of the potentiometer that the ECU is reading is covered in section 7, pp 6. Getting it out is going to suck and I would see if maybe there's something blocking the full rotation of the grip first.
