I have to sell my 900 Tornado and thought I would offer it on the Forum before ebay, MCN etc. I’ve had one knee replacement and the other one in a couple of months and it just isn’t possible to ride it in any comfort.
I’ve owned the bike since May 2015. It’s a 2008 registered 03/12/2008, green and silver, 7625 miles.
Full dealer service history with stamps in the book at 486, 3569, 5994 and 7173 miles. DK Motorcycles did the Z25 and clutch basket at 3569 – in the book. The frame has the dot punch mark also.
Just been MOTd on 14[SUP]th[/SUP] July with no advisories. 5 MOT certs in the file.
No issues at all, the LCD clocks don’t fade, the paint isn’t peeling on the fairings and it doesn’t overheat. It runs and rides beautifully and if it didn’t then I wouldn’t put it on the forum!
Standard bike except for the Benelli Titanium Arrow exhaust with baffle and a remap to suit done by the previous owner.
I used Errol’s wisdom to have the fairing arms teased back so I could see more out of the mirrors and the sidestand has the spacers in so it leans more safely than stock.
In my ownership I had a big service done at 7,173 miles and invoice on file for :
· 2 new tyres fitted
· Airbox and filter cleaned
· New oil and filter
· New plugs
· Injectors cleaned
· All coil sticks replaced (which solved a rough running issue)
Bike is kept on a trickle charger in the garage.
HPI clear and certificate in the file.
2 former keepers on the V5. 3 keys.
Owners manual on CD.
Brilliant bike with no issues and fantastic condition. Very sad to see it go. I’m open to sensible offers for a short time before I throw myself on the mercy of Ebay.

Damn,

I spent a year searching for a clean standard green 900 - then blew all my spare cash on a new KTM 1190.

Might be worth stating where you are located and how much you're looking for, in the meantime I will start looking down the back of the sofa.

Sounds about the right price, 3 months ago I would have had it right away, will check the bank balances, but probably wrong timing for me now as my car is knackered (Blew my car and Benelli money on the KTM)

I am sure it will sell quickly, but if it is still around in a few months I might be able to dig deep.

It's a little depressing to see the prices of Tornado's where they stand of this mileage/ age as any similar bike would be in the £4K plus figure . I know of another two Tornado's about to come up for and price wise there's not a lot in them and this one being green version should be snapped up whilst it can . Good luck with the sale .

benelli retail prices

Well its a strange thing, been into Bristol today to Fowlers and they have got brand new Guzzi V7 racers for sale and pre reg ones 16 plate, starting at £5.5 K, beautiful chromed tanks, real café racers.
why cos they cant sell them. off the floor, brand new, £6k £2.5 k off list .
Its the same with Benelli, dealers don't want them, wont even consider part ex.

Then we are all as bad, Angle dangle , you have just been so pleased with your bargain, "the perfect pair", we all want a "bargain". I bet the guy you bought the Cat c off is pissed with what he got .
I hopefully "bought right" and am well pleased with my Benelli ownership .
Same Dealer Fowlers, main Honda dealer, on the shop floor ,brand new Blade, all singing and dancing, next to it 2 year old blade with 3k miles £6K less !!! It was even the same colour .
do you fancy throwing £3k away a year, to cover 3000 miles, in depreciation alone.
Christ you could have a brand new Guzzi on that .

Those that have got Nellies, have got a bargain anyway, why be depressed, I think they are the best kept secret in bike ownership. I have got a few bikes as well, I don't sell them , I keep them , because they are worth more to me.

and yes I am a hoarder, just in case ! but always ready to help out a fellow Nellie owner.

Free at Last ........Little bit perplexed as you've remarked earlier on another post am I a dealer or enthusiast , I've been on the forum from 2007 and I've paid for 50% of my Benelli's at a price most others paid and on the other I've been in the right place at the right time . Alongside all this I've worked tirelessly on Benelli ownership for a lot here and seen other forum guys get the deal they wanted to within scope of what the right price is . I'm not a hoarder I enjoy what I have but don't have an excess amount of money to hoard this and that , I choose a couple of what I like and that's enough for me .

My remark earlier was I see the prices ever so slightly lower than what I'd expect to have them go for , as an example I paid £3250 for an 03 Tornado in 2007 ....... Now remember this bike was £12k only four years earlier . Even if overpriced by Benelli compared to today's price of £6k the prices have been quite static and I'd hope the lack of the good ones and the rarity makes them stay higher than where the price is heading .

My guy who sold me those Cat C was a genuine biker who just was buying items he had chance to get and he was more than happy what he got off me , in fact his lack of knowledge on Benelli's is now much bigger as I've pointed out various things to him in case he buys again .

Ill keep searching for bargains as many don't want the hassle of things to sort out and I revel in problems .

i see you yourself felt the need to find you a cheap 1130 Tornado and the ones I knew of were not in the UK hence why you looked like that was too much trouble so they were sold elsewhere .

Enjoy Benelli's I have for nearly 10 years :)

Only worth what someone is willing to pay.

3 Months ago I got beaten to an 1130 for £7k with just 1500 miles on the clock from a dealer, at that time I would happily of paid £4k for a very tidy low mileage Green 900 from a dealer, and probably not far off on a private sale if it had a recent Bennets / KJM service.

I saw another good one a few months back, up at £2800 (Green, Low Miles, Standard except mods) but it too had sold very quickly.

At the right price these bikes sell, it just so happens the right price is low, this is why I want one, it will give me a rare and beautiful motorcycle to cherish at a sensible price, the "top" bikes of the 80's. 90's and 00's are now stupid money, look at any Ducati that had success in WSB, a few years ago nobody wanted a Honda SP1/2 and now they are fetching silly money.

I can find around £3k to sit in the garage, although you could argue a £12k bike that is rising in value is a better bet than a £3k one that is sitting still, but the point is most people can find £3k, but the far side of £10k is tricky for most folk - which means they can enjoy owning a Tornado, I reckon by the new year I will (hopefully) be in a position to snap up any such bargains again :)

My thoughts exactly which is why I am off to see the bike this weekend ,owner took it off eBay after I made him an offer subject to condition etc . had to originally bow out re the yellow rs as Mrs was not keen on another bike in garage but she has now relented ;)
