Just to let you all know there is an 05 red RS Tornado on ebay as a classified listing for £2,500. This is a bogus ad, the bike is in Essex, not in Swindon as stated on the ad. I know this as I had a look at it a month ago when it was originally on ebay for £4,850, I emailed the owner yesterday and he confirmed he still has it. The bogus ad has exactly the same pics as the original genuine ad. I have emailed 'alanrovertomcat' but not yet had a reply. The bone fide owner has reported it to ebay but the ad is still there, so beware. As the old saying goes, if its sounds too good to be true - it probably is.

Ahh, bit of a numpty, just noticed all the info on Angle's previous thread, the ad is still there though.

Yep just goes to show how little eBay care about anything other than taking ur money as I reported it well over 24 hrs ago!
If you put in any login details change ur passed and security question asap!

How much is the real owner wanting out of interest?

Cheeky bugger I aint blind :rolling: Thats what it was originally on for... doesnt mean its what he is after for it now, as that was probably a bit optimistic in the first place, hence why it didnt sell. Thats what I meant.. now get back in ur cage :D

If memory serves me right it did sell with a 'make an offer' of £4,500 but it fell through. After I went to see it he put it back up as a classified at £4,700 which didnt sell at all - you pair sound like my 2 boys only without the weapons  (4 and 7 and a bit lively)..

Hi Teflon - Thats why i recognised the plate on the ad and i have been checking through my pics saved as i knew i'd seen the reg before as it was similar to frasers but now remember it being the one you were interested in . bloody ebay should of taken it off but oh no its a scam and there too busy robbing us of our money on overpriced sale fees. mines going to need to go a bit higher to see it sold and currently i see no reason to sell unless a cheap LE comes up - Bugger It Did and i missed it :bawl:

For sale angus's Hanky - soaked but still useful when rung out  :rolling:

your right about the 4500 as was lisyed the same time as i was looking but was ruled out by being the wrong colour lol interesting the price tho as its the same as the price of the bike i bought that was a classified ad at 2400 think someones been watchin and planning this for a while ?

These w#nkers make living out of doing this, it seems. It is an on-going scam, generally offering low mileage superbikes at a price which, whilst seeming too good to be true, appeals to our 'liking for a bargain', i.e. greed. When I was between Nellies a few weeks ago, a low mileage, '08 ZX10R came up on a fleabay classified for £3800. With classified, there is no ebay protection, as you deal with the buyer direct. The pitch is usually similar; they have to sell, are out of the country, you send the dosh and their 'mate' will deliver it, can't be viewed beforehand etc.
MCN had previously run an article on the scam, so I contacted them, and I kept a thread of e-mails going with the 'seller', while they contacted the Police, who contacted ebay. It still took 3 days for the listing to be removed, and the Police reckon they are virtually uncatcheable, as they are out of the country. They can 'sell' the bike many times over, if people are gullible enough. Interestingly, the ZX10R was supposed to be in Essex, as well.

It's just not British, is it, chaps?;)

Cheers
Ian

Blimey chaps, the dodgy RS is still on ebay! just how long does it take to get something removed?

as Angus mentioned in a previous thread, I thought I recognised the reg, too close to mine for comfort - I actually had to go a check it wasn't mine!

Yep ebay are fuking useless! I am really annoyed as they are all too quick when they want something out of you or think you have broken one of their stupid rules, but fraudulent adverts... could not care less!!

As the old saying goes a fool and ther money are soon parted!!!

How many people would honestly buy and pay for a bike without seeing it????

I have also bought several cars and bikes on description without seeing them or should that be committed to buying.. no funds were exchanged before said vehicle/s were in sight with paperwork in hand... as you say though, anyone daft enough to fall for one of these scams and all that. The trouble is, is that there are and alays will be people stupid enough out there to fall hook line and sinker.

me
3 LEs and all good .

:rolling:
You have either been
1. Very lucky
2. Done your research and bought from a dealer:)
3. Got someone else to do the research for you.
4. Paid cash in a brown envelope upon collection.
5. Know an ex Mafia boss who likes to settle scores

Am sure of all the cars and bikes you have bought in your time you have at least viewed one before buying.

But hey who am I to judge - Sure if you saw the LE's before you paid your money it would take all the fun out of that risk element.

That reminds me when I went to Vegas a few years ago. The night before we flew I saw an Horizon program on gambling and playing Blackjack.
The odds of winning at Blackjack are actually less than 1%.
But most of Vegas was constructed on profits from the game of Blackjack.

Sicko that I am, after my $20 - 4 hour flutter enjoyed seeing people playing roulette and blackjack betting a small fortune and then losing. Then guess what doing it all over again and again.

Heres me wishing I had a tail section for an LE to tempt you with - could do with a few extra £££'s fro Chrimbo..:rolling: :rolling:
