Hey I'm new here. I just finished a restoration of a 125 2c benneli cafe racer. I kept the wiring original. It's the model with the regulator/rectifier box underneath the seat. I thought I could just take out the battery. But when I went for a ride me lights break. I tried putting a battery eliminator in it but even that didn't help. I don't know much of electricity . Anyone on here who might have a clou what the problem could be. Something with regulator?alternator?
Thanks

i think you will have to fit a battery, i think an alternator has to have voltage going into it, i have an old xr250 that was designed to run without a battery, but it uses a type of magneto i think. welcome to the forum by the way !

It should work without the battery it sounds like the rectifier regulator is faulty and letting too much voltage through.try a new electronic 6 v regulator you don't need a rectifier without the battery. This bike does not have a alternator fitted.
