I’m starting to assemble my 750 sei (1978). I have not taken most of the rods off the crank yet, but noticed some have the weight etching on opposite sides of the rod cap.

I couldn’t find anything in the service manual, does it matter on these engines which way the connecting rods face? I know the pistons are directional and rods in some engines are. But I could not find anything on the sei.

The appear to be symmetrical, but I would like to know for certain if possible. I believe this engine has not been completely apart before.

Heck, I read my post from well over a year ago- taking the engine apart and I saw the info in the manual then.
I have no idea why I didn’t this time. It is quite clear.

I put it back together like the manual says (with the new pistons facing the correct direction)
