Hi - I need to replace the wheel bearings on the cast wheels of a 1982 Benelli Sei. I am having trouble getting the old bearings out of the hubs.
Any recommendations on how to remove the bearings will be helpful.

Thanks

Hi gently heat the aluminium around the bearings and this will help to loosen them. Use a hairdryer and only heat the surround and not the bearings!
when refitting bearings pop them in the deep freeze for 4 hrs prior to fitting and apply heat to the centre of the wheel they should push in easy!

Wheel Bearings

Hi - Thanks for the info. I was able to push out the front wheel bearings with a punch as you described - worked great. The rear, however, I could not do because the spacer inside has rings welded on it and did not allow enough movement (out of the way) to use the punch. I finally borrowed a bearing puller and it worked great.

I will use the freezer trick on assembly.

Thanks
Pete
