Roland, your passion for Benelli is obvious, but I was just wondering ......... what bike do you own? You never seem to talk about this much and it just got me thinking about what you ride. To me (and to every other member here I would imagain) it doesn't matter as you have brought a lot of people together on a first class forum about a bike which you really admire;)
So come on man, stop being the dark horse and give us all a little insite to THE main man of THE Benelli forums:smokin

Dark Horse?

Hardly. :)
I am patiently waiting for my 1130 Tornado as soon as they are available in the US. :) Been in love with this bike for many years. Just can't seem to get my hands on one that makes sense to buy.

My last two bikes were Aprilia Mille R's a 2000 and a 2002. Then a Pegaso. (Don't ask!). I now ride a Brutale 910S (the faster black one!). Prior to these bikes I mainly rode and raced Japanese bikes. That was when I was younger and quite indestructible!

I will put a deposit down on a Duc 1098 this week. Hehehe! Hopefully will get it in March.

When I am not riding and working I fly fish a lot. That is my other passion and used to also own a fishing tackle distributorship.

There..so now you know.

This post will self destruct in 24 hours. :rollin :rollin :rollin

Re: Dark Horse? Bloody right you are!!!

WHOAAAAAAA:eek :eek :eek

Jeez buddy, I bloody impressed:D :D :b

I've just taken a look at your site and you have some very nice stuff there:b (Shame there's bugger all for the Benelli though:( )

Anyway, to keep you supplied in beer for the week I've went and ordered one of your T shirts, which I shall wear with pride and may even post a pic of me wearing it (along with a pair of the girlfriends knickers;) )

Thanks for that little in-site Roland .... it's been a bit of an eye opener:lol

Re: Dark Horse? Bloody right you are!!!

Hector,
The Brutale is a beautiful bike to look at. There is no ugly angle to this bike. Except the really tall or big guys on the bike from behind look like 500 lb gorilla on a tricycle because of the smal profile tail section.

The power on the 910 is very nice and linear and makes you want to grab a handful of throttle and crank it each time you get going. That makes it great for manic hooligan city riding. It'll pull a wheelie the first three gears if you wind it fast over 4K. Mind you, it'll maintain wheelie attitude while banging it clutchless through 2nd and 3rd. Totally controllable. Oh yeah while it's wheelying it's laying down some rubber as well. :eek

Riding position is comfortable but I much prefer my Mille for longer rides. Gearing is kind of short, feels like it needs one more gear. Well, to me anyway. Vibration in the bars is bad, rendering the mirrors practically useless over 5-6K rpm and makes your hand then slowly your arm go numb after 60-70 miles.

I personally have a soft place in my heart for a twin. :) Then of course a triple!

Re: Dark Horse? Bloody right you are!!!

Thanks Roland, i,m thinkiing of changing my tnt early next year for either another tnt or a speed triple, however by the time i,ve got the s3 how i want it eg. pipes , screen belly pan etc the price of the bike,s not far from an MV, but if the vibes are bad i will have to forget it (white finger), so it,s tnt or s3.

The vibes easily fixed though. I made up some barend weights that solved all that. :) Made by Motovation. :hat

Re:Dark Horse....

I test rode a 910 at Vintage Motorcycle Days up at Mid-Ohio back in July. What Roland says about them is all true, it is a wheelie monster, the throttle response and rapid acceleration is what impressed me most.... like no other bike I've riden. Only complaint on the 10 mile or so test ride is that the mirrors show a nice shot of your arm (I found lifting your arms up and looking under them was better than scrunching you arms down to see over them) and the pegs sucked. Riding on the tips of your feet causes them to constantly slip off the pegs. Not enough grip. Many complained about that, as well as the horn and left turn signal buttons being flip-flopped causing the obvious confusion. Other than that I'm sold....Gets up to 100 pronto! But I'm biding my time waiting for all the bugs to be worked out of the Benelli Tornado...The reworked early ones here now are too risky. IMO. :smokin
