I think i have had enough! anybody fancy swapping or knows anyone that might like to swap my 05 RS for a Duke 916/996/998S/SPS/R or maybe a late 748R in red,or i might consider an MV, i reckon that even with the price reductions recently it is worth around £7500.
The bike is pretty much trouble free but my encounter with my TRE and the subsequent hassle i've have had to contend with from 3X is more than i can stand! Just leave a post if anybody is interested.

Regards Keith.

RS ??????

Man, how could you not want the RS ? I think they are great to ride, without the problems of the 903. Wouldn't you be pissed if you had problems with a Duke ;)

I've got a friend that has a low k MV F4 that has just done a big end :eek

I think even the prices of Tornado parts & servicing are heaps better than both Ducati & MV, and even the Japanese bikes for that matter.

And nothing turns heads like a Tornado.

Don't worry, I'm not being bias towards the Tornado, we don't have any more to sell and won't be getting anymore.

Re: RS ??????

Hi Johnny O,

Given your comment re the RS
" I think they are great to ride, without the problems of the 903."

Is there anything that us 903 owners can do to emulate what the factory has done with the RS to rectify the problems with the 903?

Or are these 903 problems never going to be rectified by the Factory and hence be carried throughout the lifetime of the bike?

RS vs 903

Tax, I meant, problem wise' that the difference between the RS and the 903 is that the RS comes standard with all the updates that the 903 has been getting along the way but performance wise the RS is better not just because it has a little more top-end power but more low-down and mid-range which makes it more of a joy on the road. As I said, I will be trying an RS inlet cam in a 903 when I get time, this I think will transform the 903.

Personally I think the suspspension, handling & braking of the 903 is better than the RS, so if the engine mods work in the 903, it'll make it a great package. Just gotta find the time now and hope that I can get a camshaft from an unsettled Benelli ;)

Reasons for not wanting an RS

Hi Johnny.
Appreciate your comments, spent over 10yrs with Dukes and yes had problems. Its not that i don't enjoy the RS's handling, performance and looks, but with the situation over here regarding the previous importer(especially personnally) and the parts supply problem, i do not think that i will get the back up i need. My local dealer, DMA Racing, although small is excellent, he is quite happy to offer free advice regarding set-up and other technical questions, but he is having problems reclaiming monies owed for warranty work done, this however may be resolved once KJM the new importers get settled. What with this and the huge price reductions, shafting owners that paid good money for their bikes, i just don't believe that Benelli have any interest in supporting owners in the UK. Although i am sure that if a buy a Duke i will also have problems, but i will have an established network of many more dealers and a host of specialists to rely upon and a huge supply of both genuine and aftermarket spares.

Best Regards Keith.

Re: Ride-out

Age old problem isn't it.

Money spent, lack of dealers, knowledge, prompt attention certainly worsens the already fragile situation.

When will we see some different mentality and culture.

Good customer service can make a difficult situation more bearable and possibly change it into a positive experience.

Um! that's my thought for the day. Well back to work now.

Keith

If you still want to exchange your RS I have a Suzuki GSXR1000 k2 2002, 6,000 miles just had a service and two new tyres, alarm and seat cowl in Blue, Silver and Wwhite standard colours. Let me know.
