Hi all. I hope that many of my questions have not yet begun to annoy anyone. It's just my first motorcycle and I want to understand it. Since there is no normal service station nearby. And I don’t want to go there for every minor problem. When I started throttle synchronization, I saw what was inside the carburetor flash. Literally in my language it is called "reverse flash". On this forum, I determined that in English it is "backfiring". I found a post that I can try to solve the problem by setting up a stepper motor. As I understand it, I have to tune it in tune ecu. Tune ecu on my windows. ECU walbro.
But I can not find in the program at least something related to setting up a stepper motor. And in the "test" section, all positions are gray and inactive. I can not understand why they are not active. And I can not understand where to look for the stepper motor setting.

I also have a question about the throttle synchronization.
Engenia states on their website that the TPS needs to be reset before throttle sync. On this forum I found information that to reset the TPS on a walbro, you just need to run the engine for 15-20 minutes with the tuneecu connected. After that, TPS adaptation must be performed.
But I can't understand how a motorcycle can run on completely closed butterflies. My engine refuses to run on fully closed butterflies.

I will be grateful for your help.

You must understand the Stepper motor compensates for the closed butterflies, it fluctuates to allow sufficient air on engine side of the butterflies. My Tornado has the sticker on the tank, start with closed throttle.
Check the piston is free in the Stepper, link it up to Tune Ecu, reset it at Zero, and fire the bike, it should start at about 1500-1800 rpm. Allow it to run , do not blip the throttle, as it warms it will slow itself down to 1200-1300 rpm. a good tick over speed , it avoids stalling and you can pull away without revving the engine and slipping the clutch.

According to the description of the operation of the stepper motor, I immediately realized that this is an automatic analogue of a manual throttle valve, as on any garden equipment or on old cars.
I pressed the piston of the stepper motor when I turned on the power. And I was able to lower it down at that moment. Then I turned off and turned on the power again and it went up. It made me realize that he should be okay. But after starting the engine, it drops by 1mm and that's it. During warm-up and after reaching operating temperature, it does not move anywhere. But there is minimal air draft in the stepper motor.
Can you please tell me where exactly in Tuneecu do I need to reset to zero? As I wrote above, in addition to the active indicators in the "diagnostics" tab and reading maps, I do not see other active menus to work with.

On the Walbro you cannot set the stepper motor position, there is a reset adaptation which requires the bike to run for 15minutes and it learns the stepper and tickover settings. Obviously to do this the bike has to run. I would suggest increasing the manual tickover and then reset TPS

The 1130,s use the Walbro ECu, the 900,s use Sagem apart of course the later 899 TreK etc . They operate differently.
You should be able to connect the ecu cable to the bike , switch it on and identify the map loaded and access the Stepper settings. If you want to download / save the existing map , you need the the two wire piggy back connector. But resettting the stepper to zero is straight forward .

Hi all.
My problem with resetting TPS was that TuneECU for Windows was created by a programmer with such hands. Who has not heard about the intuitive use of programs.
Moving to the "test" tab, I see the inscription TPS, which looks like an inactive line. And when you hover over it with the cursor, the cursor does not change. I just decided to click on it. Then I tried to press twice and it worked.

When trying to reset the settings in this way, after 15 minutes the engine speed decreased from 2200 to 1200-1300. And the engine runs smoother. I did this in the evening and while waiting for 15 minutes I noticed that the exhaust system from the engine to the oil filter was hot / red. When the engine speed is reduced, the exhaust system has cooled down. It seemed strange to me that 2200 rpm heats up the exhaust system so much.

I'm not sure if this happened at the same time as the engine slowed down, since I didn't look at the instrument panel for those 15 minutes. But I got a yellow light (error). TuneEcu told me that the problem is with coil #2. I determined that the coil connector was not holding well. I replaced the connector and at the same time a package with a stepper motor arrived. He was also immediately replaced.

After that, I decided to once again carry out the adaptation reset procedure for 15 minutes. After 7-10 minutes, the strange work of the electronics began.
The light began to flicker irregularly. During each blink, the temperature changed dramatically (the fans ran non-stop). TuneECU showed a non-rhythmic decrease and increase in voltage from 12.3 to 13.4 volts. The next day, all symptoms disappeared. By the way, the same effect was observed during the first procedure. Has anyone ever experienced similar symptoms?

After all the work done, the engine began to work better. I see how the stepper works and constantly moves. In contrast to the old stepper. Backfiring appear less frequently, but still exist.
Maybe someone can give me some idea how to solve the problem backfiring?
