hi, i have the same bike in my garage and it too can be a pig to start when laid up for a while .The items needed to run are fresh fuel and 2 stroke oil mix also goood compression and nice clean plugs with a fat spark .The easy way to check whats up is too remove plugs and check the spark and that they are clean .then check compression by just turning the motor over with a thumb over the plug hole to feel for some compression .If all is present squirt a little fuel oil mix into the bore via plug hole and put the plugs in and try to start .If there is nothing then it may be that an oil seal is leaking as this makes them hard to start on the kick or just that there is a lot of old unburnt old oil/fuel sat in the crankcases which is fouling the motor .Another thing to do is to remove the rear carb to air box rubbers and to mask the rear off the carbs when trying to start ,this will cause more fresh fuel to be drawn in .For a last resort you can try and gently heat the plugs with a lighter or on the gas as this can aid starting .Beware that unless you have cleaned the carbs out that old fuel may well have gummed them to the point of being blocked .Hope this helps .

Many thanks for that. We will give that a try,we've done all the fuel, sparks etc etc,but not a pop or a bang. Will have a good look at it,and give it another go......:)
If no luck then I think my Dad will sell her..

Well, if you decide to flog her give me a shout. Childhood memories ;-) Big sis had one and I always lusted after it. Reckon it's where the Benelli thing really started for me. I fancy a project too.

Hello again...
Thanks for the help regarding the Benelli. My Dad has decided that he will let her go..

My Dad is open to offers for her. We could assist in delivery/meeting half way to the next lucky owner, but it all depends on where you are,and of course the purchase price.
All offers considered....

OK Nick, if you dont sell her and decide you want to get it going, we can sort it for you, I am in STROUD so not to far from you. Never been beaten yet, (well not by a bike anyway), Steve.
